While our solutions leverage AI, at the end of the day, we enable people at utilities, services contracting firms, and engineering firms to more cost-effectively and more rapidly inspect, understand, and make critical decisions about our underground infrastructure.

About The Role

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) the role you play here at SewerAI is essential to the long term success of our company.  

Your primary accountability is to identify, reach out to, and create conversations with prospective clients via the following means: phone calls, emails, in-person conferences (when/where it’s safe), virtual conferencing (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet etc) and LinkedIn/social. You will be supported during negotiation and pricing discussions, as well as receive guidance in actions to take or not take that will enable you to close opportunities powerfully and consistently.

Your three primary Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be based on: opportunities identified and created in the Customer Relations Management (CRM) platform, closed-won opportunities (expressed as revenue), and total completed meetings. Activities such as phone calls and emails made are tracked and evaluated ongoingly.  

Minimum Requirements

As a SDR, you are the frontline voice and vanguard for SewerAI, and you create the first real impression a prospect will have of SewerAI. Preference is given to people with skills to make a lasting and positive impact on potential customers and partners. A minimum of a Bachelor’s (4-year) degree is strongly preferred. You have impeccable writing and conversational skills, social intelligence, as well as the ability to conduct research and to take actions independently.

We are a software and technology company, so your ability to powerfully use all common commercial platforms is essential for your and SewerAI’s success. What that looks like is, you know how to show up powerfully for virtual meetings on a variety of platforms (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Skype, GoToMeeting), you can navigate through our cloud platform on demos while easily explaining what you are doing and why, and you can use a variety of file sharing platforms to accommodate customer needs. You, of course, are already excellent at both PowerPoint and Google Slides, and you are communicative and responsive on internal communication channels like Slack.  

Most important trait, you can interrupt and capture the attention and interest (whether in person or virtually) of a broad variety of types of people.

Major Pluses

Demonstrated experience or background of study and understanding in wastewater infrastructure, sewer collection system maintenance and rehabilitation, trenchless technologies, or any knowledge or experience related to sewer condition assessment and inspection equipment and methods.

You have the ability to interface comfortably and effectively with people in a wide range of demographics: civil engineers, procurement administrators, public works managers/directors, CCTV field operators, jet-vac operators, superintendents, project managers, GIS/IT technologists, and C-Suite executives
